If you've been around Seattle involved in music, design, film, video, advertising, Capitol Hill events, travel or martial arts, there's a good chance we've run into each other. And we should absolutely talk about that over a beverage.

I won't be too coy about my age. Let's just say I've lived on Capitol Hill in Seattle since the days of Doc Martens and the first season of the X-Files. I was probably one of two dozen people here in Seattle during the dot com boom that were cobbling together a living making websites, banners and emails with BBEdit. I've done work for companies like Boeing, Nestlé, Safeco, Amazon and Microsoft. And probably a hundred more besides. I've worked for agencies big and small; like Cole & Webber, DDB, Hunt Marketing Group and many more.

 

For the last two decades I've been a  Senior Designer and founding associate at Quesinberry & Associates. And we're still going! This here is more my personal portfolio page for side gig work. A NOTE ABOUT WHAT YOU WON'T FIND IN MY PORTFOLIO.

Over the years a large bulk of work I have done has come with the price of an NDA. Some large foundation work. Some government stuff. Mostly via another agency that wanted to take the helm for what ever reason. So now you know I can be discrete. But the NDA's I DO allow me to tell you about this work in person. It just cannot include samples on a public facing website.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY.

I was gestationally present in the Vietnam War. And there after grew up an itinerant Army Brat. We lived wild on military bases or tiny villages from central America to the United Kingdom.

 

My father retired from the army to Washington State. I spent summers working ranches or farms in south eastern Idaho. So I am fluent in redneck in case you have a rural target market.

 

I studied film and television in college, producing a popular TV rock show. With that in mind I moved to grunge era Seattle. After a short  career starving in the TV and motion picture business, I found reliable employment in rock clubs at night and designing posters for bands and bars by day. Eventually managing a Kinko's desktop publishing center since I was there all day anyway. 

 

Soon thereafter I realized being a software trouble shooter and print production hot shot at ad agencies was something I was really good at. Until this flash-in -the-pan trend called the internet hijacked me. And after a few years I built the client base to help start a marketing branding agency with the fantastically talented Wendy Quesinberry.

 

As for fun: For many years I taught and coached karate, boxing and kickboxing until my body decided long walks was more my speed. I like to hike with my dog Hank. Occasionally I will go skiing if I can convince someone to go (hint) with me. Otherwise my wife and I will be out of the country traveling and eating good food.
